Why does the US and France want to have military bases in Nigeria and for what purpose? And again, why did the Government of President Bola Tinubu refuse to welcome the idea?
The number 4 is one of the serious challenges to African leaders that’s “Africa is a landlocked Continent”, meaning the Continent has neither been crossed by Pacific, Atlantic, Red Sea/Mediterranean into the middle of the Continent. This is one of the most important reasons why Africa is economically backward and neglected in global economic interplay. Professor Paul Collier observed that Africa is a landlocked Continent; meaning that there’s a lot of problems associated with the landlocked region in the world. In the landlocked Continent there are no big-big markets and infrastructure that will make it easier to transport items for business transactions that will make the economy viable and strong for individual citizens and the government.
And again, if you look at the map of Africa’s South of the Continent you can see that from Cape-Town of South Africa to (Indian Ocean, Atlantic Mediterranean sea of Algiers, Libya and Casablanca) Mediterranean sea is completely landlocked and experts asserts that the none landlocked of Asia, Europe and Americas contributed to economic security and development of economic interplay for the fact that things are cheaper and easier to transport than the landlocked Continent of Africa. In Africa landlocked had dwarfed the economy of the Continent due to lack of infrastructure especially railroads transportation system.
Businesses are simple via global territorial waters of the World. Meaning that 90% of global business transactions have been done via global territorial waters of all Continents of the World. Hence, economic impact is more within European countries, Asian Tigers and Americas compared to Africa. Therefore, African leaders must know this and find concrete solutions to it.
To continue InshaAllah
