What’s happening in the Nigerian Senate seems to be Nigeria’s 25 years’ democracy is under siege or can be described as still in transitional stage. If the nation’s democracy can’t be upheld within the past 25 years of practicality the current players don’t deserve to be the leaders of this great nation.
What’s happening in the Senate is supposed to be investigated by the leadership of the Red Chamber not to suspend Senator Abdul Ningi. His suspension may not be the solution to the problem. Meaning that, by his suspension the leadership of the Red Chamber is afraid of revealing wrongdoing as alleged by the Senator Abdul Ningi. Why make an instant decision to suspend him for three months? This was totally wrong.
The United States of America is the mother of democratic systems in the world. Article I, section 5, of the US Constitution “provides that each house of Congress may punish its members for disorderly behavior, and, with the concurrence of two-thirds, expel a member.” What is the stand of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? Can Senator Abdul Ningi be suspended instantly just like that?
Padding the sum of about #3.7t in the budget of the year 2024 should be investigated ASAP and those committed and acted in the deals must be punished in accordance with the law of the land.
The leadership of the Senate Must be Changed and get patriotic, none corrupt with zeal and able leadership that is ready to lead the Red Chamber to the promised land. Otherwise, Nigerian democracy will be in doom and continue to be under siege. Democratic system is nice, beautiful and fantastic if the 57 key elements and principles of the game can be put into practice accordingly.
Sincerely, the current President of the Red Chamber Senator Godswill Akpabio must reach his Waterloo. Because of the fact that he is not ready to lead. Had it been that this issue happened in one of the advanced democracy; Godswill Akpabio would have honorably resigned. But this transitional democracy is not advanced.
Corruption will never take Nigeria to any level of political, economic and social development. No nation in the world can develop where there is corruption. So long as Nigeria will not kill corruption in totality, certainly corruption will kill Nigeria.
In many countries around the world committing corrupt practices is a capital punishment. This is for the fact that corruption will destroy the economic system of that nation. Corruption is one of the reasons that made Nigeria to be a debtor and beggar nation. Nigeria is a wealthy nation that in the past between 50 to 40 years the country never begged for debt or money assistance from any country of the world. Nigerian past leaders never knew anything like WB/IMF, Paris Club or London Club. There was a time the late Prime Minister of Northern Nigeria Sir Ahmadu Bello (of blessed memory) assisted Saudi Arabia with some money with a view to strengthen the relationship between the two countries.
If the country continues as it is today; the future generations will not forgive the current leadership and no one will predict the future of the hard earned democratic system of the country. And again, if democracy is truncated in Nigeria (as a leading economy and population) the whole of the African Continent will be plunged into anarchy. Hence, if that happens the Continent will be not only a “dark Continent” but anarchy will set in; Sudan, Libya, Somalia, DRC are an excellent example. So, care must be taken otherwise, the future will be doomed. May Allah (SWT) forbid.

During the swearing in ceremony of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on May 29, 2023 the few words within minutes that ended the debate on fuel subsidy and changed the economic policy of Nigeria but Plunged the country’s economic interplay into precarity.
Tax reforms, privatization, intellectual property and other 10 prescriptions of WB/IMF designed for the world’s economic emerging nations of the world; especially in the South South part of the world, have created pains in the minds of people. The reforms may negatively affect the political popularity of a leader not only in emerging nations but even in advanced countries. Economic Reforms make citizens accumulate anger especially in Africa or Nigeria with 2 and ½ of the global population; meaning 227m population.
In Nigeria the removal of subsidies such as fuel, gas, kerosene and electricity energy tariffs has changed the lifestyle of Nigerians; be it rich or poor. The policy resulted in critical economic confusion, lamentations, stagflation and triggered the escalations of security challenges in both urban and rural areas of the country. The current kidnapping of school children in Kaduna, Borno and Sokoto states has to be connected to the current economic hardship in the country. Unemployment among the youths, especially the unproductive population in the country, is the root cause of insecurity in the country. There is no aorta of doubt that economic stability is an essential part of human life. Where there is no economic stability, it is hard to get a peaceful and stable life.
Global Economic Reforms are not for Nigeria alone in the world. The system has affected all parts of global emerging economies. The system is an essential part of globalization policy. And globalization policy is a bandwagon, hence, Nigeria can’t be different. North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba are in an unbearable economic hardship that their citizens cannot bear. The pain is accomodative.
Some of the global South nations have succeeded, particularly countries with low population density. Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, South Africa and Ghana are an excellent example. Countries like Brazil, India with high density populations succeeded (also) and their economies are greatly appreciated and growing rapidly. Generally, the Asian Tigers succeeded economically and their economies cannot be compared with some countries in Africa such as Nigeria. According to the United Nations “human development index” Nigeria is still among the 100 poorer nations and average life expectancy is 52.
*Why President Ahmed Bola Tinubu may fail or succeed.
To be continued InshaAllah———

Alhaji Sani Namadi Gora therefore Commended the effort of federal And state Government for their job welldone especially at this critical time
On his part the Director Personal Management of the area Alhaji Auwalu Malami Thanked members of the committee And Assured them support And cooperation during and After the exercise
The Senate President, Distinguished Senator Godswill Akpabio, GCON, Nigerian Senate, National Assembly, Abuja.
Distinguished,
While we hold the Red Chamber, in very high esteem, the development that leads to suspension for three months, of the Distinguished Senator, Abdul Ahmad Ningi, and one the most experienced, polished and common-man-centered legislators in our political history, evidently filled this Group, and several others, with acute consternation.
The Group couldn’t help feeling that way, for some obvious reasons.
One, the weighty issue which Senator Ningi raises, up to this moment, leaves Nigerians to their imagination, because no adequate time has been given by the Chamber, to elucidate to the public in a way to make them understand where he has gone wrong in his elaborate allegations.
We therefore, ask, why the rush to suspend him, or subject him to such a summary punitive measure?
Two, from what he has explained, his colleagues especially leadership of the Chamber, failed to give superior arguments against his claim that, ‘no nexus between the N3 trillion under scrutiny, and budget specifics’, notably ‘Money, Project and Location’, as the N25 trillion approved by the Senate, and assented to, by President Tinubu, had been treated.
We have expected the Senate, to not only refute, but confute his allegations. So far, the public could only see, that the red Chamber has succeeded in refuting, but glaringly failed to confute the allegations. The Senate, therefore, owes Nigerians clarification, to justify the punishment meted to Senator Ningi.
Thirdly, to give credence to the alleged foul play which he has tried to expose, one of the dissenting voices in the Senate, Senator Jarigbe Jarigbe, startled the Chamber with another allegation that, Senior Senators exclusively received N500 million, each, apparently to cover up the seeming deal between them and the Executive arm, without sharing the fortune with other members of the Chamber.
This allegation, may have some link to Ningi’s claim of N3 trillion budget padding, in that, the Senior Senators might have received the N500 million, to compromise, hence faulting, and fighting Ningi now trying to expose how they worked with the President, to perpetrate the budget padding.
The fourth reason, is even more unsettling. That, all the four Senators, overtly championing Ningi’s suspension move, belong to the ruling Party, the APC.
They’re Senator Sunday Karimi (APC, Kogi West), Titus Zam (APC, Benue North West), Kaka Shehu (APC, Borno Central) and Senator Ibrahim Jimoh (APC, Ondo South). Why?!
It’s on this note, that we wish to say, that APC and its Senators, are too obvious in their high level conspiracy to silence or even destroy Ningi’s unblemished legislative record, spanning some two decades, and by extension stain his Party – the main opposition Party, PDP.
The unanimous prayers, which our Group hereby submits dutifully, are as follows:
The suspension be lifted immediately, because it’s orchestrated by the ruling Party-APC, and lacking rectitude component, against the major opposition Party – PDP, looking at the movers and seconders of the suspension motion, all from one Party. As one of the Senators belonging to different Parties, Abaribe says, “The Senate would have acted differently if I were presiding officer.” The chaos witnessed during the deliberations, clearly showed all other opposition Parties, were not in support of the suspension. It’s a unilateral action, which should render it null and void. Again, the move contradicts one of the Chamber’s rules, maintaining that, every constituency must be represented therein.
The Senate should explain away in clear trrms, what Senator Ningi is actually talking about.
The Senate, should, failure to respond acceptably, tender unreserved apology, to Senator Abdul Ahmad Ningi.
The Red Chamber, should remove anything that makes the budget unfavorable or even questionable, to the North and any other section of the country.
It’s also unmistakable that, while you’re trying to romp the mischievous point home, those who said “Nay” were higher in number, but you chose to take the lower “Yeah”, in order to ensure fateful suspension of him was actualized, because the Senate leadership belonged to APC.
Allegations of this magnitude, should have been exhaustively deliberated upon, until the conscience of those involved was clear, in the interests of Nigerians.
Again, the Senate President, should review the video of the session and see the nexus between the “Yeah” and “Nay”, which was in favout of the questionably suspended Distinguished Senator, Abdul Ahmad Ningi.
This punitive measure, our Group feels very strongly, that it is nothing but a well orchestrated mischief, against the nation’s major opposition Party (PDP), underscoring the suspension of one of its leading members, and a beacon in the midst of notable democrats that everyone is proud of.
