Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board Pledges a Successful Hajj in 2024

The Director-General Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabiu Danbappa, has expressed unwavering confidence in the success of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage.

Speaking at the Barka da Hansti show on Freedom Radio, Alhaji Danbappa assured the public that meticulous preparations are underway for a fruitful pilgrimage season.

In his statement, Alhaji Laminu Danbappa, addressed concerns stemming from the previous year’s hajj, attributing any shortcomings to the preparations made by the past administration.

He emphasized the commitment of the current leadership to ensuring a seamless and successful Hajj in 2024.

“The challenges faced during the last hajj were a result of decisions made by the previous administration. Rest assured, we are working tirelessly to rectify these issues and ensure a smooth pilgrimage experience for all participants in 2024,” said Alhaji Danbappa.



The Director-General expressed gratitude for the support of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, highlighting the collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing the overall hajj experience for pilgrims.



He underscored the state government’s commitment to providing the necessary resources and support to guarantee a successful pilgrimage.



As preparations are underway, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains dedicated to upholding the highest standards of service, safety, and convenience for all pilgrims embarking on this sacred journey.




*CDFF Receives Praise and Support from MD Tourism*

The Managing Director Kano State Tourism Board Tukur Bala Sagagi has advised the members of the Dexterity Foods Forum (CDFF) to utilize their skills and experience to manage their business, and also to take care of the government’s regulations regarding their business.



The MD delivered the message during the exhibition of Nigerian and Continental dishes at the 2023 food carnival organized by the (CDFF) at The Afficent Grand Marque.



He also expressed his happiness towards the organizers for their ambition in promoting food entrepreneurs, mainly women and youth, in Northern Nigeria and Nigeria as a whole.



Sagagi, who is an expert in catering, provided some suggestions on various methods of cookery, presentation and service.

MD added.



Earlier, the founder of the forum Khadija Idris Sulaiman thanked the MD for his concern towards the program and for his support and technical advice.

Tourism And Hisbah Boards To Partner Against Unregistered and Unlicenced Hotels

Tourism Board will not tolerate non conformity with states’ Laws by all Hospitality and Tourism operators

The Managing Director Kano State Tourism Board Hon. Tukur Bala Sagagi raised the point while reacting to the raid of Sarina Hotel, by the Hisbah Board, stating that the Hotel is neither registered nor licensed to operate by Kano State Tourism Board, as required by the law.

He made this known to the State’s Hisbah officials when they paid him a courtesy call in his office.

The Hisbah delegate, led by the Deputy Commander General (DCG) Mujahid Aminuddeen, who acknowledged the tourism board’s action in taking appropriate actions against the hotels for their inability to fulfill their mandatory legal requirements.

Also speaking the Assistant Commander General (ACG) Metro clarified that they are aware of these efforts and cite the Agangara Operation conducted earlier by the Tourism Board.

Mujahid asked the Tourism Board’s management to collaborate with the Hisbah Board in setting up an internal joint task force to combat social vices being perpetrated by some of the tourism stakeholders in state.

In his response, the Tourism Board’s Managing Director has pledged to provide any required assistance, stressing that,“..we will build a team that will simplify our work since our mandates are intertwined. Because the Hisbah have the power to investigate any immorality, our office is in charge of registration and licensing of those establishments that conform with the set down rules and regulations.”. MD asserted.

KNSG Urges To Construct Kiyawa -Romo – Kwajale – Ɗangaɗa Roads

Kano State government has been called upon to construct Kiyawa to Romo to Kwajale to Ɗangaɗa road in Bagwai local government area for reviving Socio – economic status of the people in the area.


A resident of the area ,Malam Abdulhamid Shitu Romo made the call while briefing our correspondant Tasi’u Jibo Dawanau along the road in the area.


Malam Abdulhamid Shitu said, the construction of the road will link Romo ,Kwajale ,Liringo ,Kafin Maiko and Ɗangaɗa communities as well as to revive socio -economic wellbeing of the people at the grassroot levels.


An elder Alhaji Adamu Warure said, the road which comprised three political wards of Romo ,Kwajale and Ɗangaɗa wards would ease mobility among rural communities and transportation of Agricultural products across the area.


Alhaji Adamu Warure appealed to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf to recognised their plight for appropriate action to reduce their suffering.

Tofa LG To Boost Socio-Economic and Revenue Generation

The Chairman of Tofa Local Government Council, Alhaji Nafi’u Haruna Garba Yarimawa reiterated the Local Government commitment to boost Socio-economic development and boost Internally Generated Revenue of the area.


The Council Chairman Represented by his Deputy Alhaji Tijjani Bello Tofa stated this during the inauguration of twelve members Committees on Revenue Generation held at his office.


He then enjoined people of the area to give their maximum support and cooperation to the committee members to create an enabling environment and social interaction between them and revenue givers.


The Chairman of the committee, Alhaji Ilya Sule Tofa expressed his appreciation and promised to work hand in hand with all stakeholders to discharge their duties towards boosting the Local Government Revenue Generation in the area.


He urged all Traditional leaders across the fifteen wards of the area to give them cooperation to assist in order to restore the the glory of Revenue Generation in their respective communities.


Earlier speaking, the Director Personnel Management Alhaji Mustapha Sherif Anwar commended the formation of the committee as directed by the Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf in enhancing revenue generation across the state.


He called on them to be hardworking, dedicated and honest while discharging their responsibility adding that the members selection was based on merit.


Also speaking, the District Head, Alhaji Isyaku Umar Tofa (Makaman Bichi) represented by Turakin Tofa, Alhaji Sunusi Abubakar assured their support and cooperation and described formation of the committee that it would enhance sustainable development of the area.


Members of the Revenue Generation Committee include; Ilya Sule as Chairman, Ahmed Abubakar as Secretary, Alhaji Kabiru Maigoro member, Musa Rabo Jarma member, Ibrahim Shu’aibu Jobe member.


Other members are; Shehu Garba Janguza, Garba Magaji, Anas Ado Tofa, Mustapha Mansur, Sunusi Abubakar, Salisu Garba Kwami councillor and Alhaji Sabi’u Councillor of Gajida.

The Human Papilloma Virus Vaccine has been described as veritable tool against most often cause cervical ,vaginal and vulver cancers to females .

The Health Educator of Bagwai local government Abdullahi Umar made the remark while briefing the local information officer on the importance of Human Papilloma virus vaccine as preventive measure to females in the area.

Abdullahi Umar said,each dose of Human Papilloma virus vaccine offers solid protection against cervical cancer to female.

He said, twenty nine vaccination teams including fixed posts were designated across the ten political wards for successful conduct of the exercise in the area.

He further enjoined parents,traditional leaders and imams to supplement government’s effort towards uplifting the health status of the people in the area.

Kano State: LG Councils UrgesTo Intensify Revenue Generation

Kano state Governments has urged Local Government councils to intensify efforts on Internally Generated Revenue for a speedy development of the areas across the state.

The Deputy Governor of the state, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam stated this while flagging off a four day workshop for critical local government officers in kaduna.

He hinted that the idea behind the exercise was to equipped the participants with modern techniques on the best ways to promote revenue generation and electronic data collections at local government levels.

The Deputy Governor further reiterated that unexpected visits will continue to be paid with a view to fish out violators.

Earlier in a remark,the Permanent Sectary of the State Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs, Yusuf Datti Hussain commended the turn out of the participants and urged them to pay attention on what will be taught through out the season.

The workshop is being attended by the Local Government Chairmen, Members of Kano State House of Assembly, Special Advisers top local government functionaries among others.

KSQISMB, UNICEF Organizes Workshop For 200 Tsangaya Alaramma’s

Tsangaya Alaramma’s has been called to safeguard their Disciples (almajiri’s) against violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.


The Acting Executive Chairman Kano State Qur’anic and Islamiyya Schools Management Board Comrade Bala Baba Shu’aibu made the call while declaring open a 6 day Sensitization workshop for 200 Tsangaya Alaramma’s held from Ungogo, Gwale and Kano Municipal LGA’s organised by the Board in collaboration with UNICEF.


Comrade Bala said the workshop is aimed at enlightening the Alaramma’s on the missed opportunities for learning in a conducive environment and skills acquisition, as well as lack of basic needs for food, shelter and care which are not being met and expose them to violence and also a soft target for recruitment into extremist group.


Comrade Bala assured the participants on government readiness to support Tsangaya education in the state.


Papers titled “Understanding child protection and the ideal Almajiri education” and “Right of children under Islamic law” has been presented by the Dean faculty of law University of Gombe Professor Umar Alkali.

Pensioners hails KNSG for earmarks of N6bn to settles backlog gratuities

Kano State Government under Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf has been commended for securing N6 billion to settle gratuities and death benefits of some pensioners in the state.


The chairman, Kano State Pensioners Forum ( Zauren ‘yan fansho), Alhaji Ado Ibrahim D. Y (Matawalle Dan Kadai) revealed this on behalf of the Association.


Alhaji Ado Ibrahim D. Y further stated that the present state administration really shows concern especially with regard to Pensioners situations which is contrary to the happening in previous years.


He noted that the development will go along way to alleviate the suffering and hardships of pensioners and the deceases among them whose left any Children with social and economic needs across the state.


Ado Ibrahim D Y also registered his appreciate on behalf of the Pensioners Forum to the state government and offer prayers to Almighty Allah to continue to guide the present administration to the right paths .
