Palestinians and Israel Ceasefire Agreement: A Beacon of Hope Amidst USA and Qatar Interventions

By Abbati Bako, International Political Strategy and Communications Consultant and Kent Alumni,UK’s European University

The recent ceasefire agreement between Palestinians and Israel marks a significant milestone in the quest for peace in the Middle East. This breakthrough is largely attributed to the tireless efforts of international mediators, particularly the United States and Qatar. This is as a result of the power and importance of political negotiation and mediation in the field of political science. Diplomatic efforts, negotiations and mediations are supposed to be the keys to any conflicts. This writing is on the same page with Professor Daniel Danner that negotiations and mediations are the keys to any conflicts.

A New Era of Diplomacy:

The joint statement issued by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar on June 1, 2024, called on both Hamas and Israel to finalize the agreement, embodying the principles outlined by President Biden. This move demonstrates the commitment of the international community to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict via diploma means.

Qatar’s Key Role:

Qatar has played a pivotal role in brokering the ceasefire agreement. The country’s diplomatic efforts have been instrumental in bringing both parties to the negotiating table. Qatar’s intervention has not only helped to reduce tensions but also paved the way for future negotiations and mediation.

USA’s Continued Support:

The United States has been a steadfast supporter of the peace process. President Biden’s administration has worked closely with regional partners to facilitate dialogue and negotiations. The USA’s commitment to finding a peaceful resolution to the conflict is evident in its continued diplomatic efforts on this conflict that has continued since 1948.

A Path Forward:

While the ceasefire agreement is a significant step forward, it is only the beginning. Both parties must now work towards a lasting peace, addressing the underlying issues that have fueled the conflict for decades. The international community, led by the United States and Qatar, must continue to support and facilitate this process. Research indicates that there’s different conflicts in 92 countries of the world and Israel and Palestinians have been the hottest and most worried since after the SWW in 1948. In recent research the world has lost Trillions of Dollars as a result of conflicts in different parts of the world.

In conclusion, the Palestinians and Israel ceasefire agreement is a beacon of hope in a region long plagued by conflict. The Middle East is an important region in the world with 48% of global oil and gas. The interventions of the United States, Egypt and Qatar have been instrumental in achieving this breakthrough and again the word of the incoming President of US Donald Trump “Middle East will be hailed”.

As we move forward, it is essential that all parties continue to work towards a lasting peace, ensuring a brighter future for generations to come. In 15 months 46,500 Palestinians were killed by Israel and 70% of them were women and children. The world is watching what will be the next action of the World Court of Justice?

The 25 Years of Democracy in Nigeria: A Story of Resilience and Tantalizing Challenges

By Abbati Bako
abbatibako@gmail.com
X Abbati Bako 1

Nigeria’s democratic journey, which began in 1999, is a testament to the nation’s unwavering resilience and determination. Over the past 25 years, the country has made significant strides in consolidating its democratic system, despite facing numerous challenges. However, the nation’s democratic system has also been tantalized by the Western world, raising questions about the role of external influences in shaping Nigeria’s political landscape.

The Struggles and Achievements
Nigeria’s democratic journey has been marked by both triumphs and tribulations. The country has made significant progress in the following areas:

– Consolidation of Democracy:

Nigeria has successfully transitioned from one democratic government to another, demonstrating its commitment to democratic key elements and principles.

– Economic Growth:

My country has experienced periods of economic growth, driven by reforms and investments in key sectors such as agriculture and telecommunications.

– Improved Human Rights:

Nigeria has made progress in promoting human rights, particularly in areas such as freedom of speech, freedom of assembly and the press.

However, the country still faces numerous challenges, including:

– Corruption:

Corruption still remains a significant challenge, undermining the effectiveness of institutions and the delivery of public services.

. Security:

Nigeria continues to grapple with security challenges, including the Boko Haram insurgency and banditry.

.Economic Inequality:

The country’s economic growth has not been inclusive, with many Nigerians still living in abject poverty.

The Role of the Western World:

The Western world has played a significant role in shaping Nigeria’s democratic system. While external influences can be beneficial, they can also be tantalizing, undermining the nation’s sovereignty and autonomy. Economy seems to be the key strategy in using tantalization to control the system for the advantage and benefit of the West.

.Conditional Aid:

Western countries have often tied aid to conditionalities, which can undermine Nigeria’s ability to make independent decisions.

. Interference in
Domestic Politics:

Western countries have been accused of interfering in Nigeria’s domestic politics, often to advance their own interests.

– Cultural Imperialism:

The Western world has also been accused of promoting cultural imperialism, undermining Nigeria’s cultural identity and values, interest and ambition.

*The Way Forward:

As Nigeria marks 25 years of democracy, it is essential to reflect on the nation’s journey and identify areas for improvement.

To move forward, Nigeria must:

– Promote National Ownership:

Nigeria must promote national ownership of its democratic system, reducing its reliance on external influences.

Strengthen Institutions:

The country must strengthen its institutions, including the judiciary, legislature, and executive arms.

*Address Corruption and Inequality:

Nigeria must address corruption and economic inequality, promoting a more inclusive and equitable society.

By taking these steps, Nigeria can consolidate its democracy, promote economic growth and development, and reduce its reliance on external influences. As the nation moves forward, it is essential to remember that democracy is a journey, not a destination and the system has the ability and capacity to build a nation.
