KNSG To Fight Open Defecation, Rehabilitate Latrines

Kano state Goverment has assured to Conduct Major Rehabilitation of Latrines in Primary Schools and Motor Parks in order to curtail Open Defecation in the state.


The Managing Director of the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Isah stated at the closing ceremony for the training of water sanitation and Hygiene promotors facilitates held at im kunchi LocaL Goverment Secretariat.

Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir said governor Abba yusuf has serious concern on the menace of open Defecation and therefore directed for the repair of over one thousand hand pump and solar powered Boreholes in the state before one hundred days in office to end shortage of portable drinking water and end open defecation in the state.


He urged Kunchi Local Government council to as a matter of urgency to inaugurate a strong committee on water and sanitation with a view to complementing the present administration efforts on the eradication of open Defecation as well as commended Donor Agencies in the state for the construction of latrines in Shuwaki Market to end open Defecation.


in his remark the chairman of Kunchi Local Government Council council Alhaji Aminu Idi Shuwaki thanked the State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency for the support and concern to asist the Local Government and assured to accord all the necessary support in order to achieve the desire objectives.

New Village Head of Farin Ruwa Turbaned

Emir of Karaye Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II


The Emir of Karaye Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II has turbaned Alhaji Mujtaba Lawan as the New Village Head of Farin Ruwa in Shanono Local Government Area of Kano State.

The Thirty Five Year’s old Alhaji Mujittafa Lawan succeeded his late father Muhammad Lawan Farin Ruwa who passed away recently. 


The Turbaning of Mujittafa was endorsed by the Farin Ruwa Village traditional Kingmakers Council.


The new traditional Ruler was also certified free drugs addiction by the personnel of the National Drugs Laws Enforcement Agency  (NDLEA).



Speaking shortly after the turbaning the Emir Karaye Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II congratulated the new Village Head for succeeding his late father.



Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Abubakar II enjoined the New Village Head to lead his people with utmost honesty and justice.



The Monarch also charged the New Village Head to abide by all directives especially on government’s policies and programmes as well as not to engage in any act that may create chaos and rancour among his people.

The Managing Director Rural Water Supply And Sanitation Agency (RUWASA) Engineer Shamwilu Abdulkadir Has reaffirmed commitment  to tackle the problem of Water shortage facing Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital and Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital in the Municipality.

Engineer Shamwilu stressed that, the visit was aimed at assessing the persistent problem of Water shortage facing the two hospital adding that, all efforts will be made to alleviate the problem.

The Managing Director said, the Present Administration under The Executive Governor Engineer Abba Kabir Yusuf will not relent in it’s effort toward ensuring provision of portable drinking water to urban and rural communities  especially Hospital and other very important places.

He therefore solicited the support and Cooperation of the Hospitals Personal to give their maximum support and Cooperation so as to compliment the present administration efforts in ensuring provision of water supply at the two major facilities.

In their remarks, the Chief Medical officers of Abdullahi Wase Specialist Hospital Dr. Ismail Ahmed and Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital Dr. Rahila Commended the MD for the visit and assured him all necessary support and Cooperation for the effort of the present administration in alleviating the problem of water shortage at the facilities.

Parents Advised to Monitor their Wards Against Social Vices:

Parents in the State have again been advised to monitor the activities of their wards.


Parents in the state have again been enjoined to always continue collaborating with their wards’ teachers in ensuring educational goal as well as a promoting fight against social vices among the teaming youth.



The Village Head  of Hotoron Kudu, Alhaji Yahaya Yakubu give the Advise  today at the speech and prize given day of Almanan Academy held at the premises of the school in “Yandodo Quarters in Nassarawa Local Government area of Kano State.



Alhaji Yahaya Yakubu pointed out that teachers as bedrock and backbone of all meaningful youths development has a lot to contribute in maintaining high standard of moral Disciplines and boosting academic excellence and ensure a decent society.



The Village Head who was resented at the occasion by the Wakilin Maigarin Unguwar Zangon Walawai, Alhaji Umar Ahmad spoke at length on the importance of acquiring both Islamic and western education, urged the Almanan Academy teachers to always be guided by rules and regulations for it’s conduct, and methods of practice.



Earlier speaking at the occasion, the Chairman Parents Teachers Association of Almanan Academy, Alhaji Auwalu Alasan Fagge reiterated parents willingness to support the school and students through the payments of school fees on time so as to  assist the school to pursuied and Achieve excellent academic goals of their wards.



Alhaji Auwalu Alasan Fagge also expressed satisfaction on the students academic performance and good conduct in their various field of learning, urged them to keep up as their parents spent huge sum on their education.



In his welcome speech, the Head Teacher of the School, Malam Aminu Bello Aminu assured to continue delivering qualitative education, stressing that the school as from next education calendar would embarked on enrolling new student in both primary and junior secondary seasons.



The occasion was well attended by the teachers, parents and students, however, prizes and gifts were distributed to the best academic performing students and teachers, similarly, cultural dances of Igbo, Fulani and Hausa showcase at the occasion by the students of the school which indicate as the end of the programme

The Chairman Dala Local Government Council Alhaji Ibrahim Suleiman Dan Isle has expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the Polio Vaccination Exercise conducted in All part of the Local Government Area.


The council who inspected Gobirawa and Dala Wards expressed satisfaction on the massive turn out by the people in the area


He urged parents and caregivers to ensure that their wards who are eligible are vaccinated.


The Council Chairman further commended the medical staff for their commitment and further enjoin them to redouble their efforts for the successful conduct of the exercise in the area.
He also called on the traditional tittle holders in the area to mobilize their subject to embrace the exercise.

In continuation of the familiarization visit to sports facilities in the State, the Special Adviser Youth and Sports, Amb Yusuf Imam Shu’aibu Ogan Boye has visited Dawakin Kudu Mini Stadium, Wudil Sports Center and Race Course.

While describing the significance of sporting activities which plays a vital role in engaging youths, the Special Adviser assures government intervention in upgrading and rehabilitating sporting facilities in the State.

He disclosed that Sports is a global business that needs special focus and attention through which youths will be engaged.

Amb. Yusuf Imam added that through sports activities talents will be discovered that will represent the State and the Country in different competitions.

The Special Adviser promised to advise His Excellency the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf appropriately on the issues concerning sports development in achieving the desired goals.

KNSG To Boost Tourism

Kano state government has reiterated determination to boost tourism and culture in the state .The state deputy Governor comrade Aminu Abdulsalam state this at the closing ceremony of a program titled legacy of tradition of Kano, organized by the princes Neri emiko from Delta state. The deputy Governor who represented the Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf described the challenges of the am as timely in view of the position of Kano in tourism.

In Her speech, the commissioner of tourism and culture hajiya Ladidi Ibrahim Garko said the ministry was committed to revive culture and history of the state, mention that many Young generation don’t know about history and culture.She appreciated the organizer's for organizing the program in the state
