Kano state Ministry of Education has approved Friday 23rd June 2023 as the date for the commencement of Eid-el Kabir Sallah Break for all Day and Boarding Public/Private Primary and Post Primary Schools in the state.
In a Statement Signed by the Director Public Enlightment Ministry of Education Malam Aliyu Yusuf Directed, Parents/ G uardians of Pupils and Students in the Boarding schools to convey their wards home by the early hours of (Friday).
The sallah Break which is going to last for one week is supposed to end on Saturday 1st July 2023 , therefore, all Pupils/ students of the Boarding Schools are to resume on Sunday 2nd July while those in Day Schools are to resume on Monday 3rd July 2023 respectively.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Malam Ahmad Tijjani Abdullahi urged Parents /Guardians of Pupils and Students of the schools to ensure compliance with the approved resumption dates.
While wishing them Happy Sallah festivities in advance, he appeal to them to be useful to their parents and avoid roaming about unnecessarily during the Sallah break.
The Permanent Secretary, also warned that appropriate Disciplinary Action would be taken against defaulting students.
Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado Executive Chairman Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission
The Executive Chairman, Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado has assumed office.
It may be recalled in a Press Statement, that His Excellency, The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alh. Abba Kabir Yusuf approved the reinstatement of Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado as the Executive Chairman of Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission to complete his tenure in compliance with Court Order.
Barrister Rimin Gado disclosed that he will work deligently to restore the glory of the commission.
He urged the Management and Staff of the Commission to give him all the desired and necessary support in achieving the desired goals.
He charged the Staff to redouble efforts in discharging their duties as he will deliver his best in supporting them.
Responding, The Director Personnel Management, Mahmud Haido assured the Chairman all the necessary cooperation from the Management and Staff of the Commission, wishing him a successful and hitch free Leadership.

In her effort to ensure positive transformation in the activities of the school, the newly appointed Ag. Principal of School of Health Technology, Kano, Hajiya Rakiya Mukhtar, has established Committees that will scrutinize all affairs of the institution with a view to have a harmonious and conducive learning environment for students.
It could be recalled that Hajiya Rakiya Mukhtar was appointed as the Ag. Principal of the school by the State Ministry of Health vide the letter MOH/STAFF-S/T.II/I dated 9th June, 2023 following the redeployment of the former principal.
Consequently upon outcry of the students on the alleged internal odds bedeviling the school, the Ag. Principal deems it pertinent to put hands on deck with all the staff in order to sanitize the system as well as rectify the allegations levelled against the previous leadership so as to achieve efficient taking over and smooth continuity of the operationalization of the institution.
The Committees include the Physical Infrastructures and Training Resource Committee, the Operational Departments and Units Committee and the Human Resource and Administration Committee
Others are the Admission Policy (student admission and registration) Committee, the Alleged Sexual Transgression Committee and the Reformation of semester Examination Modalities Committee
While inaugurating the committees, Hajiya Rakiya charged members to work judiciously with dedication, zeal and intent to serve the State in order to justify the confidence reposed on them.
She further stated that the Committees are formed to checkmate all abnormalities which students of the institution are complaining of, adding that it is aimed at restoring the lost glory of the school and not to witch-hunt anybody.
She explained that His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf and the State Ministry of Health are worried about the unfolding situation in the school in recent times, hence the imperativeness of finding out the root cause of the problems and ways of solving them once and for all.
Each committee was provided with terms of reference (ToR) to work on and to submit its report on the stipulated time.
In another positive approach to put things into the right track, the Ag. Principal has instructed for the immediate closure of the registration for 2023/2024 session admission and also directed that henceforth, all payments to be centrally made at the account office (not in the departments or units).
She also directed for the issuance of complaint forms free of charge to all students who require one and that students from Dawakin Tofa SHT to be on two weeks break pending proper arrangements for their accommodation.

Kano state government in it’s efforts of boosting the morale of the workforce to ensure effective service delivery in the health sector has approved the posting of sole administrator of one of it’s institute.
In a statement signed by information officer state ministry for health Ibrahim Abdullahi said Rakiya Mukhtar – Vice Principal School of Health Technology, Bebeji has been posted to School of Health Technology, Kano as Sole Administrator.
The statement also said Bello Dalhatu – Principal School of Health Technology, Kano has been redeployed to the headquarters of the Ministry.
Consequently, the Ministry has formed two committees to investigate the activities of School of Health Technology, Kano and School of Nursing, Kano respectively.
The statement further said the posting is with immediate effect.

Further more, the Chairman of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria Kano State House of Assembly branch, Comrade Bashir Yahaya commended the laudable initiatives of the Speaker and promised to work hard for the collective success of the Assembly.
In a related development the Speaker had also held a meeting with the management staff of the House on his efforts to ensure inclusive service which he said is the hallmark towards attaining government objectives
He implored the management staff to always led by example and assured them that he will carry everybody along but remind them to brace up for effective service delivery.
Similar meeting was also held with staff of the State House of Assembly Service Commission today on the open drive of the Speaker to have a conducive and harmonious working atmosphere with all relevant stake holders in the Assembly.

Speaking earlier at the occasion, the Wambai of Karaye District Head of Rogo Alhaji Muhammad Mahraz Said, the decision of the Elders Committee of the Emirate to honour the newly elected members from the eight local governments of Karaye is in line with higher confidence and expectations on them to be good ambassadors of their electorates.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR) a few minutes ago signed into law, The Student Loan Bill, which provides for interest-free loans to indigent Nigerian students.
Recall that Tinubu, during his campaign, had promised to give student loans as part of efforts to develop the education sector and also build the youth capacity.
Tinubu made the promise at the British Royal Institute in London.
“Youths are the greatest asset of tomorrow,” Tinubu said in Chatham House while fielding questions from participants at the event.
He that they will be part of his “all-inclusive” government, pointing to the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
“The education system is to change. We would overhaul it and tinker with some areas with the philosophy that no one would be left behind. There will be student loans for all. We are going to reform the Almajiri system, We are equally going to build more schools, recruit more teachers and train them,” the former Lagos state governor said.
To further help young people, he said if elected, his government would equally introduce technology hubs where youths can acquire digital skills to better develop their leadership skills.
“Youths can even develop technological languages on their own and make a better 21st-century approach to governance in Nigeria,” he said.
Monday’s event focussed on economic and foreign policies as well as national security among others.
