WHEN TRUTH BECOMES TREASON: KAWU SUMAILA’S AUDACITY OF CALLING OUT THE OBVIOUS

In the Court of Political Convenience, Honesty Is the First Casualty.

By Shariff Aminu Ahlan

It’s indeed laughable, shameful and outright disgusting watching a huge crowd from the ruling party busy fighting upon themselves to outshines other in the battle of attack, castigation and concoction baseless tells towards an individual from who bold and courageous enough to stand erect and dare everyone with naked truth, by pinpointing certain political errors that need to be changed and readdress for the betterment of the party. Individual who say things just the way they are and not afraid of the repercussion that may trail his actions. And seem like his courage, boldness and independent minded attitude has rattled and disorganized the psyche of many, as such  he is painted and targeted for political termination bear character assassination and other politically concocted plots.

The genesis of the whole brouhaha which an darken the political horizon stated when the state governor was interviewed through live programs in which he was subject to different questions bordering on several issues. He used the opportunity to debunk claims over the trending issue regarding the newly amalgamation of politician from the party and beyond that are calling upon him to to do the needful and stand on his feet as it was coined in hausa as “Tsaya da Kafar ka”.But the major issue that  people are  eager to hear from him about his stand on the said issue.

The governor reemphasize and reinstated his stand in regards to his Godfather.  He dismissed the issue by telling the world about his absolute loyalty to his Godfather whom he swore never to have a confrontation with his Boss and tagged the promoters of the raising issue as irresponsible and are mere instigators who are desperate and hell bent to cause confusion and crises in the party. Promised never to be betrayer of the man he has been for forty years as his Boss and guardian angel.

A day after the historic interview was aired, Senator Kawu Sumsila granted an hour interview with state radio stations in which the interview rattled and shocked the blindfolded followers of Kwankwassiya. Despites the fact his utterances during the interview are nothing but bitter truth which deserved to be commended and appreciated. But the supporters of the party consider it as a an open challenge to their supreme leader as they wholeheartedly believed that no one should question him least of asking the governor to balance the interest of the teeming populace vis-a-vis his God father Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso.

As such they pour out from all angels attacking and castigating the Senator who was elected based on the ticket given to him by the their party NNPP. Challenging or least dearing their leader is a taboo and a punishable offence to who commit the sin and a sitting Senator with massive was not an exception.

They polluted the news airwaves on both social media and radio stations as they computed among themselves in a necessitated mission to destroy the Senator and concocted baseless lies and accusations based on their devilish plots to paint the outspoken black. Radio stations across the state were bombarded by their followers having one useless interview or expression of their anger towards the man whose major sin if any is telling the truth which is bitter sweet to swallow.

But what was the sin and it’s gravity nature committed by the brave and educationally endowed Senator which warrant this senseless attacks and castigation?
Nothing! The Senator during the interview poured out praises and salutations to the Governor for insisting that he would never betray his God father and guardian.

A good move that deserved an applause. He then caution the governor to balance the interest of the millions of votes whose votes and commitment led to his victory and that of his Godfather. Emphasized that the people deserved to be serve and consider as priority as their needs should be paramount above any other interests.

Moreover, the extraordinarily gifted and Intellectually endowed Senator also used the opportunity to caution the to be fair and just in his dealings. Betraying the colossal number of State populace which stand to be almost twenty millions is more catastrophic and self destruction in both this world and hereafter than betraying a single individual. For you can at any point time approach the aggrieved individual to seek for his forgiveness but can’t have that luxury with millions of living soul. Advised him to be concentrate on delivering his mandate to the people by committing his whole and ensure that positive developmental projects were delivered to justified the trust reposed on him the teeming populace. In the he alone would be accountable for his actions in the day of judgement.

Reminded him that the mantle of leadership was bestowed on him as such he is the one to held responsible for failing to deliver as he swore to uphold. His leadership should fairness and justice to the people as his interest and obedience to his presumed Godfather should not deter him from delivering his promises.

It was glorifying and sweet melody to test and swallow as the Senator expressed his reservation and disagreement with those who are claiming that he was privileged to be Senator out of their magnitude and as such should always be grateful to the that handed him ticket of their party which made him what he is.

Admiringly, the Senator  didn’t deny the contributions of the party in that regard but shall take in to cognizant the contributions he also made that led to the success of the party. The governor is fully aware of it as such won’t bother to justify himself to the rampaging attackers who are blindfolded and misguided and does not have the logical mindset to accept the bitter truth and even ponder on it

The popular and tested Senator who has an irrevocable bond with his people also call for fairness and justice among teeming party supporters. They shouldn’t not be tell guided and programed to be submissive to one individuals whose words are considered devine and not be subjected to questions or advice. Reinstated that he would not be blindly submissive to any living soul as everyone has his own peculiar  gift and unique blessings.

Receiving advise no matter the channels it spring from is a sign of wisdom. But the Senator insisted that he can’t be a party to the system that promoted silence on any issue or directives from the supreme leader.

Is imperative that any contribution offered by individuals should be acknowledged and recognized. But treating them and considering them unimportant or ingrates simply because they were offered tickets to via for positions is unfair and unjust. They are always exempted from been involved in any activities relating to the party and are simply perceived to be lucky fellow who were in their elected position based on the flatter of God.

He rounded up by telling the whole world that he is not naive or politically dumb that would follow any perceived powerful leader blindfolded and totally submissive as he believes only the holy prophet would be granted such gesture but not a living soul.

At tail end of the interview, the Senator insisted he did nothing wrong by offering a sound and soul-searching advice that would help the glorious transformation and task the party leaders to consider and ponder his sound advice or do what they feel like to him as he fear no mortal but God

And these are utterances that was taken blown out of proportion with massive attack and castigation centered on him. He is called ingrates and betrayer for dearing to challenge their leader whose words and actions are laws that everyone should adhere to uphold

But the irony of the whole brouhaha was that it  centred senseless attacks is their inability to accept and swallow the naked truth. Do away with their sentiment and misguided motion that coloured the Senator as betrayer who has no political might, and accept to acknowledged his independent political might as displayed at uncountable number of times. A proven politician with mastery of the game who was elected three times as member of the Federal House of Representative.

He bravery and astonishingly contests and won election battle on several occasions as the bond he has with his people was irrevocable. Not new to winning elections, as such is clear testament of his might and political power. Not mention his superb experience in leadership and is inner working for he was one a Special Adviser to the President Buhari during his era.

Let’s them bear in mind that the Senator is still a party man who is willing and eager to demonstrate his loyalty to the party, but called upon recognition, respect and sound  treatment that would ensure feeling of sense of belonging. But still adamant and submissive to his principal and won’t allow himself to be belittle and disgrace into following an individual with blinded obedience which tantamount to self disgrace and foolishness of the highest order.

An independent minded, honest, fearless, intellectually endowed with mastery of the game of politics with massive fellowship and unblemish track record  would expectedly won’t allow himself to be treated like a common toy, who will be subjected to been total submissive and obedience to the assumed supreme leader and Numero Uno of the block called Kwankwassiya

Too big for that
